The TL-ABC Welcomes New Leadership as the Council Enters a Year of Growth and Strong Advocacy

The Timor-Leste Australia Business Council (TL-ABC) has announced its new leadership team following the 2025 Annual General Meeting, marking an important milestone as the Council accelerates its advocacy agenda and prepares for a dynamic year ahead.

A Leadership Team Ready to Build on Strong Foundations

The AGM confirmed Sarah Green, Principal Client Relations Manager at Caltech, as the new Chair, and Ekaterina Khramova, General Manager Timor-Leste for ANL & CMA CGM, as Vice-Chair.

They will be supported by continuing Board Members:

  • Erik Stokes – RMS Construction & Engineering

  • José Teixeira – Da Silva Teixeira & Associados

  • Brett Reedy – Inovar4

With deep sector experience across logistics, legal, engineering, workforce development and professional services, this leadership group reflects the diversity and capability of the TL-ABC’s growing membership.

“It is an honour to lead the TL-ABC as our membership grows, our advocacy agenda takes shape, and our role as a bridge between government and business becomes even more important,” said Sarah Green.

Acknowledging Outgoing Leaders

The Council thanked outgoing Chair Andy Jacob and Vice-Chair Troy Huckstepp for their contributions throughout 2024–25.
Both played key roles in strengthening the TL-ABC’s strategic direction and expanding its membership base. Andy and Troy will remain actively involved in supporting the Council’s ongoing initiatives and member engagement.

Membership Growth Strengthening TL-ABC’s Voice

The TL-ABC now represents 25 fully paid-up members, including businesses registered in both Timor-Leste and Australia. Members range from small enterprises to large multinational firms operating across priority sectors such as construction, logistics, professional services, and energy.

This growth strengthens the Council’s ability to advocate effectively on issues shaping the business environment. Membership options are available for businesses of all sizes, and new members are encouraged to join and participate in the Council’s activities. Join the TL-ABC at www.tl-abc.org/membership

2026 Advocacy Agenda: A Clear Focus on Impact

A major priority for the new leadership team is the development of the 2026 TL-ABC Advocacy Agenda - a member-driven initiative that will frame the Council’s reform priorities for the year ahead.

The agenda will:

  • Identify key constraints and challenges affecting businesses

  • Present high-level, evidence-based reform recommendations

  • Deepen constructive public–private dialogue

  • Position TL-ABC as a trusted partner to government and development agencies

Consultations with members, government ministries, development partners, and industry stakeholders are currently underway. The Council expects to release a consolidated report and policy brief in early 2026.

Looking Ahead: A Dynamic Program for 2025-26

Under its refreshed leadership, the TL-ABC will continue rolling out an active program of engagement, advocacy, and member consultation, aligned with its mission to:

Drive business growth and shared prosperity by fostering trusted partnerships, advocating for meaningful reform, sharing actionable insights, and championing opportunities between Timor-Leste and Australia.

Upcoming activities will include sector roundtables, networking events, targeted consultations, and partnership-building initiatives designed to strengthen bilateral economic ties.
