• Small business belongs at the table

SMEs are the backbone of the economy, in Timor-Leste and in Australia. The Timor-Leste Australia Business Council is making membership more accessible, so that more small and medium businesses can take their place in the networks, the conversations, and the collective voice that move business forward.

Why we want SMEs in the Council

Small and medium enterprises are where most of the energy, employment, and enterprise of our two economies sits. A business council that speaks for the private sector is only as representative as its membership. That is why the TL-ABC wants more SMEs at the table.

The TL-ABC is an independent, member-led business council. It is a community of businesses, Timorese and Australian, working together to strengthen trade, investment, and the business environment between the two countries. The Council is stronger, more credible, and more representative when small business is part of it.

When SMEs join, the whole Council benefits, and so do they.

What membership gives your business

Membership connects your business to people, opportunities, and influence that are hard to reach alone.

A network that opens doors. Priority access and member rates at TL-ABC networking events, introductions and business referrals, and invitations to events with the Council's strategic partners.

A bridge between two markets. For a Timorese business, the Council is a pathway into Australia. For an Australian business, it is trusted footing in Timor-Leste.

A voice in advocacy. The TL-ABC advocates to government on the issues that hold business back, from licensing and customs to access to finance and workforce. The advocacy agenda is built from member input, so as a member you help shape what the Council stands for.

Information that keeps you ahead. Briefings on Australian Government programs and priorities, updates and opportunities from the Australian Embassy, news on grants and capacity building, and access to the Council's member resources.

Profile and credibility. Opportunities to be featured to the Council's growing audience and to contribute to its communications, plus the standing that comes from belonging to a recognised bilateral business council.

Membership made accessible

The TL-ABC has introduced a discounted membership rate for small and medium enterprises, because a more inclusive Council is a stronger one.

SME membership is USD 250 per year. This is an introductory rate, available for a limited time.

SME members receive the full benefits of Council membership described above.

Who can join

TL-ABC membership is open to businesses, individuals, and entities operating in either Timor-Leste or Australia with a current or future interest in cross-border trade, investment, or collaboration.

Both Australian and Timorese SME’s qualify for this limited time SME discount.
